We've added two new sections to the website: one about the bandmembers and another one about the different lineups the group has gone through.

 We've had an important loss. Felipe Duhart has decided to cease being an active member of the group in order to give priority to his formal music and electric guitar studies, where he must train in various styles and dedicate time to rehearsing and study of music theory. Also, his sideline progressive rock band La Rutilio is demanding him professional dedication. Felipe was with ARKA for three years and during that period he played live performances, created guitar arrangements for a few songs and recorded them for the new album. The general feeling from those of us who stay in the band is that this period with Felipe was of great musicianship thanks to his excellent formation in music theory and notable guitar playing, both of which made it into part of the new album. Thankfully, he'll carry on supporting us as an external collaborator. We wish him the best in his forthcoming projects.
Changing the subject, there's a change of plans regarding the release of an EP with an advance of our new album. We are currently talking to a few labels and one of their conditions is that our material must be unreleased. That means we cannot publish anything for the time being. So you'll have to make up with the samples that appear and will appear on our Sounds page. Meanwhile, we carry on recording and, who knows, maybe we won't release an EP but finish and launch the complete album instead!

 We've almost completed the EP that will precede the album En Busca de la Ciudad Perdida (In Search of the Lost City). We recently finished recording all the instruments and vocals and are now mixing the tracks and fixing some details. Listen to mp3 samples of the six songs on the sounds page.

We have a new mp3 containing work in progress of some of the songs that are being recorded for the new album. The backing tracks (drums, precussion, bass and guitar) of these songs are ready and some vocals, backing vocals and a few additional guitars are all that's left to finish them. We continue working on the new album, which according to the cover and epilogue of the previous one, will be titled En Busca de la Ciudad Perdida (In Search of the Lost City). It's a concept album with the songs telling a story and incorporating at the same time some elements of the Latin-American culture.
We're going to take quite longer than we originally planned to complete it because about 8 new songs will be added to the 10 that are currently being recorded, and some of them are still in the writing stage. So for those impatient souls, an EP will soon be released with an advance of the album, supported by a few live performances. Keep checking this site!

We continue exploring new ways of promoting our music worldwide and a few days ago we joined Emepe3.com, a website where music can be purchased at very low prices in the form of digital downloads. So now our album El Momento can be purchased and downloaded partially or entirely from that website through the following link.
Also, the voting system at Sudrock.cl keeps on going! At present we're in first place, but we still need your daily votes to stay in that position!
Finally, the recording of our new album continues and the weekend of May 15-16 we began working on 3 new songs which will be added to the 7 songs that began the same process in August last year. Soon we'll upload new videos and samples from these recording sessions onto the site. To access them, you must belong to the Mailing List.

The recording sessions for our new album continue... we've taken a little longer than we originally planned, but we'll soon finish them. We've recorded all the drums, nearly all bass guitars and percussion, and some guitars and backing vocals. We invite you to download an mp3 (2.33 Mb) with samples of the songs in their present state.
