On December 9th the website MP3Palace.cl celebrated its second anniversary at the Cúpula del Parque O'Higgins. During the event they presented the so-called MP3 Awards to the artists and bands who have their music hosted on the website. There were different categories, and in the Non-Conventional one we were awarded the Group With Most Vision prize. Read more about the event here

We've done lots of things in the past two months since our last news. For a start, we've been rehearsing regularly and compiling a set of songs, some of them new: "La Montaña De La Luz", "Estático-Dinámico" (funky styled!), "Una Mañana" and "Mi Ciudad". We had the opportunity to perform the first one at the "Tercer Encuentro de Unidad" on September 9th. It turned out to be a sort of pre-debut, because although it was Miguel's debut on drums (a very good one too!!), Felipe didn't perform because he was travelling abroad. We hope to have a proper debut soon, with the complete band.

We invite you to suscribe to our mailing list at the foot of this page if you're interested in being notified about news we'll have soon: performances, photo updates on the site featuring the new lineup, new mp3's for downloading, and the possibility to purchase our latest album online with a credit card! Also, this site will feature lots more information about this album, with personal comments on each song, photos and videos of the recording sessions, freak info and reviews by other people. If you own the album, send us a review to info@arka.cl, and we'll publish it!

Our song Jugando en el Viento has been selected for a compilation CD which will be sold at the International Baha'i Youth Congress , to be held in Canada between June 28th and July 1st. This CD will feature a total of 15 artists from all over the world, amongst them our friend Darío Cardoso. A web site with more information on this album will be set up by the Organising Committee soon. We'll let you know.

We have also been recording some new songs for another compilation CD, this time produced by a local independent label, for promotion to the national media. We conducted a small survey amongst our closest fans to help us choose the right songs. Soon more information on the results and our participation in this important project.

www.chrisruhe.comOur good friend Chris Ruhe, also known as "El Compadre Chris", has released a new album! It's titled "Still Rockin' down that Highway Paved with Song", and contains songs with that folk and blues style that characterizes him. Chris is a very special friend of ours who supported our musical projects from the very beginning, giving us guitar lessons and lending us instruments and recording equipment. We have very fond memories of his pass through Chile; he now lives in New York, USA. We invite you to visit his website and find out more about his new album at www.chrisruhe.com.

Since March 21st we have music for downloading at X-Audio, which joins two other sites that already had our material, MP3 Palace and Mp3.com. As well as complete songs taken from our albums, we plan to make other material available on these sites, such as live takes, un-released songs, and re-mixes.

16/Mar/2001
As a first result of our promotional plan throughout the Internet, we've been placed on the home page of MP3 Palace, a website dedicated to Chilean bands. For the moment we have a short biography, a photo, and a song for downloading.

Inauguration of our new website.

Ignacio leaves Chile to set home in Salamanca, Spain, where he will pursue further studies. Ignacio has been the longest running drummer in the band, and left some tracks recorded which we will try to complete soon. Ignacio, we'll miss you.
Daniel, Ignacio and Javier.
